The current state of the Object Show Community

Here's some ranting from me.

You may be asking: "What is the current state of the community?" It's quite hard to comprehend the situation at this moment. Let's use analogies!

If you imagine the community as a forest fire, BFDI was the spark. It started burning and continued to keep it's flame alive for quite a while. Then came Inanimate Insanity where we throw in another firewood into the fire. The fire became stronger, and soon, more and more object shows came, and we continued to pour in more sticks and twigs and the forest fire reached peak around End-2012.

Right now, the BFDI and Inanimate Insanity throw in their giant firewood less often. Whereas other object shows pour in more often but they only throw twigs and leaves. Hmmm...

The thing is, this whole object show community is mostly made up of youths aged 9-14 that make their own object shows, they try to find whatever they can to throw into the fire, be it leaves or twigs. Whereas when you are talking about the creators of BFDI, II, OU, OO, BOTO etc. they go deep into the forest to try to find the best firewood for the flame while also accomplishing personal tasks like their own separate fires.

The Object Show community is now 4 years old and is growing up. For me, I was fortunate to be in the time where Object Shows were ripe from their trees. (Oh no, another analogy!) And right now is probably a winter.

We won't know when the next firewood will be thrown in, but just remember that in order for an experience to be enjoyable, it must have it's rise and falls. When it does rise, hurrah for everyone. Just like what the song 'Let Her Go' says. You only get to feel the great euphoria happening when something is a rarity and we treasure the experience.

See ya!
